Cleaning - Cleaning supplies will be available to staff. Cleaning will return to normal operations.
 

School Campuses and Classrooms 

Cohorting and Social Distancing

• There will be less restrictive social distancing and student grouping measures in an attempt to return to more normal operations.

Facility Use

• Facility use agreements require a cleaning fee to ensure that appropriate cleaning is conducted for the safety of children and staff using the facilities following an outside organization’s use of the facilities.

• Menu items will continue to minimize the use of high touch condiments or utensils.

L.E.A.P.

• All L.E.A.P. employees receive continual training required by ADHS and have received additional training from Maricopa County Health Department leads.

• L.E.A.P. has established Health and Safety protocols using CDC, ADHS, and Maricopa County Health guidance for operating community education programs.

• All other cleaning and sanitization protocols in addition to L.E.A.P. health and safety protocols are followed.

Extracurricular Activities and Athletics

• All after-school activities will resume normal operations. 

Face Coverings

• Face coverings and masks are optional for all staff, students, and visitors.

Hand Hygiene

• Students will continue to be encouraged to use hand sanitizer or wash their hands upon arrival at school, after being outside for physical activity, before and after meals, prior to leaving school for home, and after sneezing, coughing, or blowing their nose.

Isolation and Quarantine

Any staff member or student that tests positive for COVID-19 will be required to isolate per CDC guidelines. Students exhibiting two (2) or more COVID-like symptoms and/or who are awaiting COVID test results must stay isolated at home for 10 days and be symptom-free for 24 hours or receive a negative test and be symptom-free for 24 hours. Students with chronic health conditions may provide a letter of diagnosis from a medical doctor stating the COVID-like symptoms contributed to the chronic health issue.

Students - Students with direct contact to a person with a positive COVID-19 test will not be required to quarantine. Parents of students who have had direct contact with someone that has tested positive for COVID-19 will be notified and asked to monitor their students for any symptoms that may appear. Parents who wish for their child to isolate/quarantine shall call the school to excuse the child's absences. 

Staff - Liberty Elementary School District staff members are considered essential workers.

• Do you want your student to have a high-quality Liberty education from the comfort and safety of home?
• Do you have internet connection?
• Do you want your student to follow a daily instructional schedule from dedicated teachers the whole year?
• Can your student work unsupervised online for over five hours per school day OR can you supervise and support your student online for over five hours during the school day?
• Do you want your student to be a part of a school community while learning online?
• Do you want your student to learn using 21st Century technology and teaching strategies?

If the answer is yes to all the questions above, your child is a candidate for remote learning.

Daily attendance will be taken for Kindergarten-Eighth grade. Criteria for attendance will include presence on scheduled daily Google Meet sessions and daily asynchronous Edgenuity activity, including submission of student work on the given day.

Remote Learning will be predominantly asynchronous (independent online) learning with scheduled synchronous times for the following:

• Daily Morning Check-in 

• Reading Interventions(K-3)

• Teacher 1:1 Goal Setting

• Special Education Services

• Daily Afternoon Check-out

Students will also flexibly complete assignments in both Google Classroom and Edgenuity. Lessons are aligned to Liberty curriculum guides. Edgenuity will provide digital instructional resources designed specifically for online learning. Students will be able to access their learning in Edgenuity at any time or day, at their own pace by actively listening to video-recorded lessons that they can stop and start to complete interactive lessons.

• Supplemental instructional resources used daily (DreamBox, Achieve3000, Google Classroom)
• Social-emotional support through Liberty Elementary School counselor
• Accommodations and support services provided by Liberty Elementary special education teachers and/or K-2 reading interventionists
• Individual student check-in’s
• District devices available; reliable internet connection required: edgenuity.com/support/technical-requirements
• Special Area instruction for art, music, and PE are not included in this model
• Eligibility to participate in extracurricular activities and athletics at Liberty Elementary School

• Participate in required parent training
• Provide a learning space and environment for students to work
• Provide basic technology support to child (K-3 ONLY) - Serve as a K-3 Primary Learning Facilitator (aka Learning Coach) to guide children through each lesson, monitor and facilitate the learning experience, and assist with logging into scheduled Google Meet sessions and Edgenuity courses and modules.

• Evaluate child’s progress at 25-day milestone for continued enrollment in Remote Learning model
• Regularly check email/Edgenuity parent portal to monitor student instructional minutes and progress toward completion of courses
• Communicate with the teacher
• Communicate with online support system as needed
• Access ParentVue to view progress report and trimester grades

• Participate in scheduled required student training/orientation (increased synchronous schedule first week of school)
• Attend daily scheduled Google Meet (Whole group and small group) learning sessions
• Complete assigned daily course work in Edgenuity and Google Classroom
• Participate in scheduled individual check in’s with teacher
• Participate in district and state benchmark and end-of-year assessments in person at the school (calendar to be provided)
